Aug 17 A day of joy and magic for the whole family. Celebrate the richness and diversity of the African and Caribbean cultures. Attractions include live musical entertainment, children’s activities, games, races, balloon creatures, facepainting, and a children’s carnival parade, along with drumming and steelpan lessons and the opportunity to experience the authentic African and Caribbean culture through various vendor displays of arts, crafts and foods. Admission is free, there’s ample free parking, and everyone is invited.

TBA Held at the end of May, this annual non-profit festival celebrates the art and tradition of quilts and quilting. Billed as the largest of its kind in Canada, the festival consist of 40 events in 10 communities. A raffle is held in conjunction with the festival. The lucky winner receives an exquisite handmade quilt. Workshops and seminars are offered.
